Why is shipping outside of the United States so expensive?
I AM THE ABYSS is slated to be at the very least 400 pages, realistically 500-600 and will weigh over 2 lbs. When you include shipping supplies/the box, TRADE PAPERBACK packages will weigh roughly 3 lbs, while YOUR HEART IS BLACK will weigh 4 lbs or more.

We don’t like how international postage rates have steadily risen either, but we’ve learned the hard way that offering discounts on international shipping will stack up the extra expenses quickly, especially since we still have to pay for materials and labor.

Why did the shipping total in my I AM THE ABYSS survey change?
We offered free U.S. shipping to all I AM THE ABYSS backers but unfortunately made a mistake when setting up the survey and as a result international backers received free shipping as well! We updated this on 09/12/2017 for all international backers, so please revisit your I AM THE ABYSS BackerKit survey to review new totals and adjust your survey accordingly. SALE/CUSTOM ITEMS: I ordered sale items through your campaign that are not marked as add-ons… is something wrong?
Because many sale items and custom items were offered during the campaign, we are working with these backers directly to secure their orders for various custom items. When are the signed editions shipping?
The signed editions will take a little longer and are expected to ship by the end of 2017/early 2018.
Ebooks/paperbacks will begin shipping Q4 2017.
How will my ebook be sent to me?
In DRM-Free EPUB and MOBI formats that can be used on 99% of all e-readers including desktop e-reader applications.
How will my physical book be shipped to me??
Amazon Fulfillment will be handling 95% of shipments for I AM THE ABYSS via UPS and e-mails with tracking information will be sent to each campaign backer.
We at Dark Regions Press will be shipping all I AM GATEWAY editions ourselves to ensure no damage during transit and some other custom arrangements/requests (our shipments are sent via USPS with tracking e-mails sent as well).

Ebooks, t-shirts, posters, trade paperbacks and deluxe signed slipcased hardcovers (YOUR HEART IS BLACK editions) are expected to ship to backers by December 2017 OR Q1 2018 if unforeseen delays are incurred. I AM GATEWAY ultra-deluxe traycased editions will be shipping by Q1 2018. Any other add-ons or products for preorder will be shipping by Q1 2018.

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
